Әсіресе Кеңес үкіметінің құрылып, саяси идеологиялық қысым күшейіп тұрды. 1920 жылдардың ортасынан басталған ұжымдастыру саясаты көшпелі халықтарды отырықшыландырып қана қоймай жер атауларының өзгеруіне де үлесін қосты. Әсіресе Ақмола облысының қалаға жақын орналасқан, Ресейден келген қоныс аударушылар орналасқан аумақтарындағы жер-су атаулары XX ғасырға дейін-ақ орыс тіліне ауысқан болатын. Ал кеңестік саясат оны тіпті күрделендіріп, нәтижесінде: Комсомол, Осакаровка, Астраханка деген сияқты атауларман алмастыруға себепші болды. Алайда, қазақтар басым орналасқан Қорғалжың өңірінде жер-су атаулары тек қазақша сақталып келді.
