В статье предпринята попытка изучения памятников как источник по изучению истории региона. Источником в данном случае является могильная плита известного акмолинского купца, который внес огромный вклад в развитие промышленного облика города Акмолинска начала XX века. Б.Кощегулов известен не только крупным торговым домом, продукцией конфетно-пряничной фабрики, но и широкой деятельностью по развитию образования и культуры в городе. Его имя должно сохраниться в истории города как основателя промышленного и культурного облика города. Изучение могильных плит известного городского мусульманского кладбища, позволит восполнить страницы истории города конца XIX – первой половины XX в.
