Аннотация
В статье обосновывается тезис о том, что в музыке устной культуры понятие «самовыражение композитора» намного теснее и органичнее, чем в музыке письменной традиции. Данный тезис раскрывается на примере творчества одного из выдающихся представителей западно-казахстанского домбрового искусства – Курмангазы Сагырбаева (1818-1889). Выбор личности Курмангазы объясняется тем, что с его именем связаны самые выдающиеся достижения традиционной инструментальной музыки казахов. Не случайно его называют «отцом кюев» (күй атасы), этим подчеркивается исключительно важная роль его творчества в истории национальной музыкальной культуры. Характерные особенности стиля Курмангазы настолько весомы и ярки, что они как бы просвечиваются сквозь все последующие наслоения.
