Статья посвящена детальному анализу методологий экспедиционных и не экспедиционных художников Степи XVIII века. Основное содержание исследования составляет классификационный анализ графического наследия периода предстановления традиционного изобразительного искусства современного Казахстана. Жанровое и стилистическое дифференцирование наследия проведено на основе визуальной антропологии из академических, исторических источников. В ходе исследования были определены круг жанров и круг стилей и направлений деятельности художников- ориенталистов Степи XVIII века. В результате исследования были выявлены предшественники некоторых художественных стилей и направлений, в данной статье раскрываются процессы деятельности экспедиционных художников, оказавшие влияние на формирование, развитие и распространение некоторых стилей и направлений.
