Ғылыми мақала музей ісінің теориялық-әдіснамалық мәселелеріне арналады. Еліміз тәуелсіздігін алған жылдардан бастап, қоғамдық-гуманитарлық ғылымдар саласында талай іргелі зерттеулер дүниеге келді. Біздің қарастырып отырған Қазақстан музейлері тарихының теориялық-методологиялық мәселелері әлі күнге дейін өзінің зерттелу мәресіне жетпеген, жаңаша пайымдауларды қажет ететін тұстардың бірі болып табылады. Кешегі кеңестік дәуірде тарих ғылымы ұзақ уақыт бойы коммунистік партия идеологиясына негізделген сыңаржақтылыққа бой ұрып, тарихшы ғалымдарымыздың еңбектері шынайылықтан, тарихилық қағидаттардан алшақ болды. Ұлт тарихын зерттеудің ұстанымы марксизм-ленинизм ілімінен туындауына орай, саяси жүйе құрылысына, халықтың мәдени жағдайына, тарихи оқиғаларға әділ талдау жасалмады. Мәселені зерттеу барысында отандық, шетел ғалымдарының ғылыми айналымға енген еңбектері жан-жақты қарастырылып, мақаланың мазмұнын ашу барысында тиімді пайдаланылды.
