Абай Құнанбайұлы, барлық əлемдік ұлы ақындар сияқты, ең алдымен – өз заманының тумасы, өз дəуірінің жоқшысы, өз халқының өмірлік мақсат- мұраттарының жанашыры, шырақшысы. Дала данышпаны, ойшыл ақын, туған халқын, өсіп-өнген елін-жерін сүйген, оның болашағын ойлап қам жеген, оның қалыпты дамуына кедергі келтіретін қоғамдық керітартпа құбылыстарға қарсы күрескен қайраткер тұлға. Ақынның гуманистік, тарихи көзқарастары күні бүгінге дейін мəн-маңызын жойған жоқ. Оның өмірлік ұстанымдары білім-іліммен жүйеленген, ішкі терең пайым-парасатына негізделген, туған халқының болашағы үшін жаны алаң жанның жалпы дүниетанымынан туындайтын сындарлы көзқарас болып табылады. Осы орайда автор аталған мəселені қазіргі тəуелсіздік талаптары тұрғысынан саралайды.
