Биыл, яғни 2021 жылы қазақ баспасөзі тарихындағы алғашқы журнал «Айқаптың» жарыққа шыққанына 110 жыл толса, журналдың тұңғыш редакторы Мұхаметжан Сералиннің туғанына 150 жыл (1872-1929) толады. Бұл мақалада ХХ ғасырдың басында ұлтымыздың қайраткері, қаламгер Мұхаметжан Сералиннің өмірі мен шығармашылығы, өзі өмір сүрген заманындағы халықтың əлеуметтік жағдайын жақсарту жолындағы еңбектері баяндалады. Сонымен қатар қазақ тілінде журнал шығару жолындағы əрекеттері де айтылды. Қаламгердің редакторлығымен жарық көрген тұңғыш қазақ журналы «Айқаптың» сол кездегі көтерген мəселелері, онда жарық көрген деректер мен шығармалардың тақырыбы, оқу-тəрбие мəселелері «шөлдеп отырған» халыққа өте қажет болғандығы баяндалады. Журнал аз уақыт жарық көрсе де халықтың мұңы мен зарын жеткізіп, ұлттың ұстанымын насихаттағаны жөнінде, ондағы жарық көрген материалдардың авторлары жайлы əлі де болса зерттелу қажет екенін атап көрсетеді.
