Аннотация
В статье рассматриваются различные функционально-семантические интерпретации курганов с каменными грядами («усами»), сложившиеся в историографии в период с середины XX века до настоящего времени. Анализируются взгляды различных исследователей с учетом современных культурно-хронологических представлений. Обозначены ключевые функции, приписываемые данным сооружениям: культово-анцестральная, культово-солярная, праздничная, ритуально-очистительная и т.д. Показано, что наиболее убедительными в рамках современной научной парадигмы являются интерпретации, трактующие курганы с «усами» как культово-мемориальные комплексы раннетюркских племен, связанные с почитанием высокостатусных усопших и сакрализацией пространства. Отмечаются необходимость комплексного и критического подхода к интерпретации подобных объектов.
